Come hang out for a few hours and learn the tricks of designing and surfacing your own mug using the Sgraffito ceramic carving technique.
You will get to design on paper, practice on a clay tile, and then be provided with a hand made mug to carve and complete your vision! Once the workshop is done, I will fire and clear glaze your work and return your mug to you.
$45 dollars covers the cost of clay, labor, and firing.
The workshop will be held at my home in Powderhorn Park.

Sgraffito is a technique where a white or colored slip is applied a ceramic piece at the leather-hard stage, and carved away to reveal the a high contrast clay body underneath. In this case we will be using a dark red clay body and a bright white slip. Other slips will be provided to add color and dimension!
